Simona Gentile was born in Abruzzo, Italy. She moved to the USA in 1999 and she has been living in the DC area for 13 years with her husband and two kids. She holds a Laura in Economia as well as a Master of Arts in Italian from Middlebury College in Vermont. She has close to 15 years experience in collegiate instruction as an adjunct professor of Italian, currently at the Montgomery College in Maryland where she teaches and helps coordinate the Italian curriculum. There she has been able to take advantage of numerous workshops offered to faculty members on new teaching techniques and in-class technology tools. She has also taught previously at the George Washington University and at The Catholic University in Washington, DC, as well as at the Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. Her experience varies from teaching to translating and through the Italian Cultural Society of Washington where she has been occasionally teaching, she has been able to obtain credits from the George Mason University towards the state certification in MD. She likes reading, cooking, biking and mostly having fun with her kids and family!
