Marie Frances was born into an Italian-American family, and while not versed in the language, has been appreciative of it and Italian culture since she was a child. She has had a very successful business career and brings a wealth of practical experience to our board. Notably, Marie Frances has been producing sporting events, TV, films and Live Stage Productions all over the world for the past thirty years. In particular, she started the MT Kilimanjaro Adventure and the MT Kilimanjaro Marathon in 1991. In 2010 the government of Tanzania made Marie Frances an honorary citizen and named a a major street in the city of Moshi at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, “Marie Frances Blvd”. Members of the “7 Continents Club” received a letter from the Ambassador congratulating them on running the MT Kilimanjaro Marathon. Marie Frances also started the first International Marathon in Cairo, Egypt in 1987. Marie has also won the title “Rotarian of the Year” for 2012-2013.
