In 1999 the Italian Cultural Society, Holy Rosary Church and Fieri of DC joined forces to revive a long-lost tradition –an Italian street festival– in the location where once stood Washington’s Little Italy. Festa Italiana was born by the sponsorships of the three organizations.
The street festival is held annually toward the end of September or early October. On this occasion, Italians and Italian Americans living in the metropolitan area, come together to celebrate their heritage. The Festa Italiana is held on Third Street between G and F Sts. NW all around Holy Rosary Church.
Every year a different region of Italy is featured with a display of crafts, food, music and dances. Check “Poche Parole” for the date of the next Festa and come ready to enjoy all things Italian.
