The Elena and Antonio De Luca Award honors a student in studies of the Classics (in Latin or Greek language or cultural studies.)
Katrina is graduating this year from The University of Maryland with two Bachelor degrees : in Classical Languages, and Italian Studies. She has a 3.94 out of 4 GPA and is a member of five academic honor societies. She has been accepted in the Ph.D. program in Byzantine History at the University of Chicago, starting this fall. A recent paper of hers delivered at the Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Classics Conference is entitled”The Final Frontier of Gaul and Rome:De Bello Gallico 6, 11-24 as Political Allegory”.
