My name is Donatella Pulvirenti, I was born in Catania, on the east cost of Sicily, on the slopes of the Volcano Etna. I moved to the United States in 2007, just after getting married and now I have a six year old son named Elia. I enjoy playing with kids, reading, travelling and cooking. I love different cultures but I would like to preserve my Italian roots, language and heritage. Although my professional background has been in Accounting and Administrative work, in recent years I have been fortunate to experience the joys of parenting and motherhood and this has opened a new field that I would like to pursue professionally. In the last years after volunteering at my son’s preschool, I have been working as an assistant teacher for Geneva Day School and the Potomac Nursery School.
In the mean time, I obtained the following certificates at Montgomery College Workforce Development & Continuing Education
- Child Growth and Development, January – March 2015
Successfully completed 45 hours of Core of Knowledge Non-Credit Course in Child Development.
- Planning Curriculum for Child Care, March – May 2015
Successfully completed 45 hours of Core of Knowledge Non-Credit Course in Curriculum.
I believe that my skills, experience and warm and gentle approach will be a great contribution to our school environment.
